Okay so I briefly checked out the above places and quickly became overwhelmed in info. The one area I appreciate the most is peer-reviewed content and sharing. I like the OLTD Shared Learning Community as it contains colleagues building towards a similar goal. We also won't be selling something to each other unless we truly enjoy the tool or idea. I'm still new to the Google+ scene as well as many other techs despite being a self-proclaimed techie. I am somewhat distant from online formats as well. I try not to let the digital world rule the physical world. I see everyday what happens when the virtual takes over. The flipped classroom approach is a weird idea to me. Personally, I don't think I will do this unless I have a good reason. I support the idea of letting students learn on their own, but I like to be around to guide/provide feedback/encourage the learning that may be occurring. Khan Academy - I don't know. Nothing is Free...it is only Free*. *Please see bottom of thread for legal content that describes the cost of Free*. I also teach Design Animation/Media Arts/Web Applications/Media Literacy and I feel that Khan just isn't for me. Overall, unless it is shared via a colleague or learn about it in a Pro-D. I will usually be hesitant about it. The global education page seems cool with an unending list of recordings about a variety of topics. I may check these out down the road when I don't feel like a rock floating on a lake. The idea of 21st century learning has being around for a while. I would like to think I know what it is about. I don't know if I know much about it anymore. There is so much information presented here that I feel like a hamster in a wheel. I am thankful for the share on this however and will continue the read as this course nears its completion. I once had the silly notion that I could keep up with one aspect of technology. I quickly realized that this idea was impossible. There is just so much out there to know everything about one thing. Slowly, I feel that as I pick and choose what I need/want to learn that I will absorb the ideas I choose to explore. I am looking for new ways to make my courses "cooler" by finding new tech and incorporating it into the classroom. An example will be making our Xmas Door in our class and have interactive
elements with an app called Aurasma. I will post the pic of the door when it is constructed. I believe that in time I will be able to sort out the information I want and pick and choose from that to learn about what I wish to learn. I am a horrible net-worker, but I suppose, I will grow in that regard as well. Thanks for this wave of informational opportunities.
